About
Yehuda Vernik
President, Alef Info Systems, Inc.
Chief Technology Officer, My Cloud Grocer.
M.S. in Computer Science / Control Systems, 1994, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (KNURE), Faculty of Control Systems.
Yehuda's work as CTO is hands-on: software architecture, implementation, production operation, and the continuing translation of business requirements into working systems. This experience gives the research program a direct operational foundation in systems that must remain reliable while their requirements, data, users, and environments change.

Intellectual provenance
The specification-to-implementation distinction central to Alef's research has direct roots in three connected forms of work.
Cybernetics and control theory. The gap between a specified controller and observed system behavior is foundational. Yehuda trained in the Faculty of Control Systems at the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics, in the traditions of Soviet cybernetics, control theory, and the Kolmogorov school.
Hands-on software engineering. Decades of work on production systems repeatedly expose the difference between written requirements, executable structure, and real behavior under load.
Foundational research. Alef extends that distinction across formal systems, knowledge and information, evaluation and adaptation, executable systems, and physical law.
Alef Info Systems, Inc.
Alef Info Systems is a United States research and systems company. Its mission is to develop foundational science, test it against working systems and empirical evidence, and translate mature results into usable methods and technologies.
The public program is organized into five divisions described on the Research Program page.
Research stance
Alef treats formal structures as testable research objects whose invariants can be compared across different implementations. A structure earns its place in the program by what it explains, preserves, predicts, or makes possible in a working system.
